27 Amendments of the Constitution

1st Amendment; A

A = All RAPPS, freedom of religion, assembly, petition, press, and speech

2nd Amendment ; B

B = Bear Arms, the right to bear arms

3rd Amendment; C

C = Can’t intrude, no quartering of troops

4th Amendment; D

D = Don’t Search, protects from unreasonable search and seizure, requiring search warrants

5th Amendment; E

E = Every Criminals Rights, rights of the accused : no self incrimination / no double jeopardy

6th Amendment; F

F = Fast Trial, the right to a speedy trial and an attorney

7th Amendment; G

G = Get Jury, the right to trial by jury

8th Amendment; H

H = Harsh Punishment, no cruel or unusual punishment and no excessive bail

9th Amendment; I

I = Individual Rights, individuals have rights other than just what is listed in the constitution

10th Amendment; J

J = Just States, powers not listed belong to the states and the people

11th Amendment; K

K = Kind States, an individual can't sue a state they are not a part of

L = Loser Not VP, set up separate electoral ballots for the president and vice president

M = Make’em Free, abolished slavery

14th Amendment; N

N = Now Citizens, made African Americans citizens

15th Amendment; O

O = Obama Votes, gave African Americans the right to vote

16th Amendment; P

P = P.I.T. Poopy Income Tax, gave Congress the right to collect income taxes

17th Amendment; Q

Q = Quick Senators, set up the direct election of senators

18th Amendment; R

R = Rum Gone, prohibition of alcohol

19th Amendment; S

S = Suffrage for Women, gave women voting rights

20th Amendment; T

T = Terms Changed, presidential and congressional term dates changed

21st Amendment; U

U = Undo 18th, repealed prohibition of alcohol

22nd Amendment; V

V = Voted In Twice, set a two term limit for the president

23rd Amendment; W

W = Washington D.C. Votes, gave Washington D.C. residents the right to vote for president

24th Amendment; X

X = X’ed Out Poll Tax, banned poll tax in federal elections

25th Amendment; Y

Y = You’re Next, set up presidential succession

26th Amendment; Z

Z = Zombies Vote, voting age lowered to 18
