• Very high quality image

• Online use, not CMYK colour

• Can contain layers and have transparent backgrounds

PICT

• Very limited portability

• Design by Apple Macintosh

• Can be Compressed

• Not widely used

• Can store bitmap and vector images

GIFF

• Portable - opened in most graphic packages

• Lossy and lossless compression

• Very small file sizes as colour quality is very limited

• Often used for icons/ buttons

• Can have a transparent background
