Professor Antoinette Burton, The trouble with Empire, 2015. Shows how colonization put everyone on edge, but also how the rise of the British Empire wasn’t smooth, and there were a lot of bumps.
What did Uganda do that made it a bit unpopular?
It allied itself with the British as they saw that their interests aligned. It was seen as being favored by the British.
Which African countries were never colonised?
Ethiopia and Liberia. Ethiopia is known for its victory at the battle of Adwa, and Liberia was founded by freed African slaves.
