3 types of stem cells

totipotent, pluripotent, and unipotent stem cells.

Totipotent Stem Cell (Total)

• embryonic stem cell

• capable of differentiating into any cell line

Pluripotent Stem Cell (Partial)

• somatic stem cell

• capable of differentiating into a limited number of cell lines

Unipotent Stem Cell (One)

• somatic stem cell

• capable of differentiating into one cell lin

Connective Tissue

• binds cells and organs together

• found in fat, tendons, and bone

Epithelial Tissue

• cells that cover the outer and inner surfaces of the body

• found in skin, lining of digestive tract, other hollow organs

Muscle Tissue

• contracts when excited 

• provides movement 

• many types of muscle tissues exist

• found in the heart, around body connected to bone via tendons

Nervous Tissue

• allows the continuation of electrochemical signals around the body

• allows communication between systems 

• found in the brain, spinal; cord, and nerves
