Torque
A measure of the force that produces or tends to produce rotation or torsion.
Moment of Inertia
The resistance of an object to changes in its rotation, based on its mass distribution.
Right Hand Rule
A convention used to determine the direction of torque based on the orientation of the fingers and thumb of the right hand.
Angular Acceleration
The rate of change of angular velocity over time.
Equations of Motion for Rotational Dynamics
Analogous to linear motion, including torques and moment of inertia.
Closed-book exam
An examination format where only certain materials or tools are allowed, often excluding textbooks or other resources.
Frictionless pulley
A pulley that allows objects to move freely without friction affecting motion.
Free-Body Diagram
A graphical representation used to visualize the forces acting on a single object.
Gravitational Force
The force exerted by gravity on an object, usually referred to as weight.
Independent Bodies
Objects in a problem that can move or act without affecting one another.
