This is to remember certain reading rules for the SAT... which is less than 20 > days AWAYYY lock in please...

Independent Clause

something that stands alone as a sentence

Semicolon

punctuation mark that functions like a period, and is used between two ideas that can be there own separate sentences

Commas

• can NEVER link two independent clauses

• can be used with a coordinating conjunction to connect two independent clauses. (FANBOYS)

Colon/ dash

can be used when the second part of the sentence elaborates on the first part of the sentence. The first part must be an independent clause, while the second part does not have to be independent

Subject + Verb = Indepndent Clause
