The rock cycle

How are igneous rocks formed

Igneous rocks are formed by lava cooling down into rocks. E.g.obsidian, granite, diorite, basalt.

How is sedimentry rock formed

When sediment is compacted tpgether and cemented to form a rock. E.g. sandstone, limestone

How is metamorphic rock formed?

When either sedimentry rock or igneous rock face the right heat and pressure, metamorphic rocks are formed. E.g. marble, slate

How is sediment formed?

If either types of rocks experience weathering and erosion they may create sediment. E.g. sand, silt

How can magma be formed from rocks?

If either igneous or metamorphic rock melts, it can form magma.
