40,000 rebels led by Robert aske, occupied pontefract castle

6th dec - aske met with Duke of Norfolk, agreed on truce, later met Henry VIII at Greenwich palace

Aske disbanded rebels but is later executed along with the other leaders - 12th July

William body is killed in Cornwall in 1548 after government ordered the destruction of catholic images/ relics

Sir Humphrey arundell and Robert Welsh led Cornish and Devon rebels, 7000 to siege Exeter

Lord Russell with 8000 men attacked the rebels in august 1549, both Welsh and Humphrey and Welsh are executed

July 1549 - Robert Kett led 15,000 rebels to Norwich, where they set fire to the city and it fell to them

Marquis of Northampton fails to subdue the rebels

Second attempt by earl of Northumberland subdues the rebels, Robert kett is executed

Dec - planned 4 prong uprising, Kent, Herefordshire, Devon, Leicestershire

jan 1554 - Thomas Wyatt raised 2500 men, only Kent participated. Duke of Norfolk fled after his troops joined Wyatt’s cause

Feb - Wyatt stopped 0.5km from Mary, he is forced to surrender

Lady Jane grey, Wyatt, both executed, Elizabeth imprisoned in Tower of London
