Object Lines/Outline of Parts
-Lines that are used to show the main outline of the furniture.
-Proper line gradation should be applied.
-The line should be outstanding with continuous visible lines for emphasis of form of the object.
Dimension Lines
Fine lines that are used to show the measurements / dimension of the main object, walls, etc. It is usually marked at ends with tic marks, circles or arrow heads.
Extension Lines
Thin lines that extend from the object outline defining areas for dimensions. A gap should be left from the object outline.
Note that extension and dimension lines are drawn at right angles to each other.
Leader Lines
In drafting, __________ are used to connect dimension or notes. Drawn lighter than ordinary lines.
Hidden Lines
___________ appear as series of short dashes or broken lines on the plan. These are used to show areas that are not visible in a specific view.
Center Lines
____________ denote the center of symmetrical objects such center of furniture.
Cutting Plane Lines
Heavy lines used to denote an area to be sectioned. The only part of this line drawn are the extreme ends or portion of the line.
Center Lines
Alternate long and short ashes, closely and evenly spaced.
Used to indicate :
1. The centre of circles and arcs
2.The axis of object with cylindrical features
3. Center of symmetrical views or parts of the views that are symmetrical.
Break Lines
A ruled line with irregular freehand breaks. Break lines are used when the entire area be shown entirely.
Fixture Lines
Show the outline of furniture and fixtures.
Phantom Lines
Used to indicate property lines, show relative position of moving parts.
Section Lines/Hatch
Series of thin lines that run parallel to each other and placed on the inside of cut surfaces of sectional drawings.
