E=mc²
Formula relating energy (E) to mass (m) and the speed of light (c) squared.
Magnetic Poles
Regions of a magnet where the magnetic force is strongest; north and south poles.
Magnetic Field Lines
Imaginary lines that represent the direction and strength of a magnetic field.
D.C. Motor
An electrical device that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy using direct current.
Induced e.m.f.
Electromotive force (voltage) generated in a circuit due to a changing magnetic field.
Mutual Induction
The process by which a change in current in one coil induces e.m.f. in another coil.
Transformer
A static machine used for transforming power from one circuit to another without changing the frequency.
Step-Up Transformer
Increases the secondary voltage above the primary voltage.
Step-Down Transformer
Decreases the secondary voltage below the primary voltage.
Lenz's Law
Induced current flows in a direction to oppose the change causing it.
