Action: abducts the upper arm; assists in flexion and extension of the upper arm

Biceps brachii

Origin: 1. Coracoid process on scapula 2. Supraglenoid tuberosity on scapula

Insertion: radial tuberosity of proximal end

Action: flexes and supinate the forearm and hand

Triceps brachii

Origin: 1. Infraglenoid tuberosity of scapula 2. Above radial groove of humerus 3. Below radial groove of humerus

Insertion: olecranon process of ulna

Action: extends forearm

Brachioradialis

Origin: supracondyloid ridge of humerus

Insertion: above styloid process of radius

Action: flexes forearm, semipronated or semi supinate forearm; supinate the forearm and hand

Brachialis

Origin: distal half, anterior surface of humerus

Insertion: tuberosity and front coronoid process of ulna

Action: flexes the pronated arm

Origin: 1. infragleniod tuberosity of scapula 2. above radial groove of humerus 3. below radial groove of humerus

Insertion: olecranon process of ulna

Action: extends forearm
