Chemical Change
A process where one or more substances are transformed into different substances.
Acid-Base Neutralization

pH Scale
A scale used to measure how acidic or alkaline a solution is, ranging from 0 (acidic) to 14 (alkaline), with 7 being neutral.
Indicators
Substances that change color in response to the pH of a solution, used to identify whether a solution is acidic or alkaline.
Photosynthesis
The process by which green plants use sunlight to synthesize foods with carbon dioxide and water.
Rusting
The corrosion of iron when it comes into contact with oxygen and moisture, resulting in iron oxide.
Decomposition
The process of breaking down organic matter into simpler substances, often involving bacteria.
Electroplating
A method used to coat a metal object with a layer of metal using electric current.
Thermal Decomposition
A chemical reaction in which a compound breaks down into two or more simpler substances when heated.
Hydrochloric Acid
A strong mineral acid used in various applications, including removing rust.
Baking Soda
A common alkaline substance used as a leavening agent in baking, chemically known as sodium bicarbonate.
Acetic Acid
An organic compound that gives vinegar its sour taste; also known as ethanoic acid.
Calcium Hydroxide
An alkaline compound used to reduce soil acidity and in the production of slaked lime.
