What are the two postulates of Special Relativity?
All physical laws are the same in all inertial reference frames (IRFs).
The speed of light in a vacuum is constant (c ≈ 3 × 10⁸ m/s) for all observers, regardless of their motion.
What is an inertial reference frame (IRF)?
A frame of reference in which an object remains at rest or moves at a constant velocity unless acted upon by an external force.
Why is Special Relativity called "special"?
Because it applies only to inertial reference frames and does not account for acceleration.
