• Distance is exact

• Location can be pinpointed

• Symbols neip indentify land use

• Building size cant be seen

Aerial photograpny

• Distance is estimated

• location is general

• rearures recognised easily

• Building size is clear but use is often unclear.

Direction of camera

1. Pick out significant landmarks on both.

2. Pick another and draw a line from one to the other

3. from the os map you can see wnich way the land marks are pointing. This tells us the direction of the camera in the areal photograph.
