Distance decay theory
The farther away a place is from the node the less influence the node has over that place

An increase in interaction between places which has led to an increase in influence intergagation and interdependence between areas of the world

A form of diffusion in which a culture adaptation is created as a result of the introduction of a cualtural trait from another place
Hierarchical diffusion
A form of diffusion in which an idea or innovation spreads by passing first amount the most connected places or people. Ex fashion trends happening first in Milan New York and Paris.
Relocation diffusion
Diffusion process in which the items been diffused are transmitted by people as they evacuate the old areas and relocate to new ones the most common form of relocation diffusion involves spreading innovations by migrating population example the Amish bringing their cultural traits with them to the United States in the 1700s
Expansion diffusion
The spread of a feature or trend form one place to another, an additive process, meaning more of that feature or trend are being observed
