Define Interdependence
Mutual Reliance between and among groups, organizations, areas, and states for access to resources that sustain living aragement.
Emphasizes Mutuality and Reciprocity NOT domination or dependency.
Types of Interdepedence
Economic: Access to markets, services, etc…
Political: Diplomacy, negotiation, etc…
Environmental: Climate change agreements, etc…
Security: Arises with security threats (Nato, etc…)
Symmetrical vs. Asymmetrical: Interdependence where both sides are dependent vs. where one actor depends more heavily.

Argues that interdependence produces vulnerability. If you depend on others, they can hurt you.
Theory: States MUST prioritize autonomy and security. Too much interdependence is dangerous.
