Chromatin
Loosely coiled DNA around proteins called histones. DNA this form appears string like
Chromosomes
Super coiled/densely condensed molecule of DNA. When we see chromosomes S phase has already occurred, so these are technically duplicated chromosomes.
Chromatid
Half of a duplicated chromosomes.
Centrosomes
Holds the chromatics together and are attachment sites for spindle fibers
Telomeres
Ends of the chromosome. Protect the DNA during replication because the DNA gets shorter every time the cell copies the DNA. These DO NOT contain genes.
Spindle Fibers
Made out of microtubules (proteins) forming cytoskeleton. They attach each chromatic at the centromere and allow the chromosomes or chromatids can move around the cell
Centrosomes
Contain centrioles. This is where Spider fibers start to form/organize so that chromosomes or chromatids can move around the cell
Centriole
A pair of tic-tac shaped organelles that help to organize microtubules/spindle fibers for the cell’s use.
