Who conducted a study on depressed people to evaluate CBT

John March studied 327 depressed people on therapy to evaluate the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in treating depression. They were separated into 3 groups: Treatment with CBT, Treatment with anti-depressants and Treament with anti-depressants and CBT.
The group with only CBT had 81% recovery rate, the group with only anti-depressants had a 81% recovery rate and the group with CBT and anti-depressants had a recovery rate of 86%

Does CBT have long term effects?

No, CBT does not have long term effects it short term effects. Even thought it has a high success rate many patients relapse into their depressive state.
