A sanction delivered by the police. Examples can be non court sanctions like fines or a caution, or a court sanction like a custodial sentence.

summary offences (less serious-speeding) or indictable offences (serious sentences involving courts)

AC 1.1-what are norms, moral codes and values?

norms-standards of behaviour (wearing shoes), moral codes-set standards of behaviour and values-things society see’s as valuable.

Deviance is any behaviours that break accepted standards. This can include criminal deviance, odd behaviour or admired behaviour (saving someones life)
