**Self-efficacy can be increased by four methods of learning**

1. **Physiological state**

Learn to diminish fear and negative emotions by controlling somatic reactions.
2. **Verbal persuasion**

Convince individuals of their capability to successfully perform a behavior, but avoid overestimating their abilities.
3. **Vicarious experience**

Learn by observing others who have successfully performed the behavior, especially when unsure about personal ability.
4. **Enactive attainment**

Engage in the behavior with guidance and support to gain

confidence and increase self-efficacy.
