Report writing
Designers work in teams, document their work in a design report
Begin with executive summary, intro, conc which evaluates the design + analyses it
Sometimes they have to carry out technical reports → practical tests, targeted market research or product reviews
Graphs, tables and charts
Bar charts, pictograms, histograms, line graphs, pie charts → data presentation
2d drawings
Orthographies → front, plan and end elevations
Sectional drawings → show internal and hidden details of an object
3d drawings
Isometric → 3d drawing technique using 30 degree lines → used for sketching ideas
One point perspective → drawing has depth and for far away things appear smaller → used by architects and interior designers
Two point perspective → 3d drawing technique used to draw artist impressions → exaggerates 3d effect → drawn above or below the line → viewed at diff angles
Mixed media and rendering
Mixed media → combination of pencils, markers, paints and fine liners
Marker rendering → using alcohol based markers to enhance their drawings. Base colours and tone can be achieved
Texture rendering → drawing lines in different directions with fine liners creating material like texture
