Sternal rub, call 911 or get AED, tilt head back to open airway, perform 100 compressions per minute followed by 2 rescue breaths.
What does AED stand for and what is its purpose?
Automated External Defibrillator; it shocks the heart to stop it and restart a normal rhythm.
What are the steps for applying a splint?
Check for pulse, support the joint above and below the injury, splint the bone, and check for pulse again.
What is the purpose of a tourniquet?
To stop blood flow to a wound and prevent bleeding.
Where should a tourniquet be placed?
2-3 inches above the wound.
What is the role of a Physician's Assistant?
To provide direct patient care, examine, diagnose, treat patients, prescribe medication, and order testing.
