What are the three "parts" of the soul, and what fulfills each part?

The three parts of the soul are the intellect, will, and social component. The intellect seeks truth, the will seeks good, and the social component seeks human interaction and community (relationships), with fulfilling experiences available through knowledge, moral actions, and artistic expressions respectively.

Please offer a critique of moral relativism using at least TWO (2) of the six arguments that we learned in class. Please explain the arguments clearly, logically, and THOROUGHLY.

What are the three things that need to be in place for a sin to be mortal?

For a sin to be mortal, it must involve a grave matter, be committed with full knowledge of its sinful nature, and be done with deliberate consent.

What are disordered desires? In your answer:

a. please define the hierarchy of goods

b. define disordered desires

c. give one example of an action that results from a disordered desire AND show where the disorder is

d. say what the effect is any time that people act on disordered desires

A new friend finds out you go to a Catholic school and says, "Oh, I could never be Catholic. They have way too many rules! What's the point? I would rather be free to do what makes me happy." In other words, the friend believes that the moral law is arbitrary and contrary to happiness. How would you respond to help your friend understand what Catholics believe about the moral law?
