Contemporary
Something happening, existing, living, or coming into being during the same period of time.
Contemporary Art
Art of any form and genre that produced in our contemporary time; art created today.
Modern Art
Art that ranges from the end of the 19th Century until the 1970’s or 1980’s or the late 20th Century.
Pop Art
Including imagery from popular and mass culture, such as advertising, comic books and mundane mass-produced objects
Conceptual Art
Art for which the idea (or concept) behind the work is more important than the finished art object
Installation Art
Genre of three-dimensional works that are often site-specific and designed to transform the perception of a space
Photorealism
Genre of art that encompasses painting, drawing and other graphic media.
Appropriation
The modifications made by the artist to existing works or concepts.
Hybridity
The use of different art mediums that are put together.
Performance
Arts or skills that require a performance in front of a public audience (e.g., acting, singing, dancing).
Integrative Art
Employs the use of different art elements used together in distinct different expression; a fusion of different art disciplines using different styles and media in creating art.

Reflects the relationships build around the bonds of community and society.
Intuitive (Philippine Art)
Filipinos are immersed in their consciousness of themselves, their community and their culture.
Holistic (Philippine Art)
Individuals, groups of people and events are perceived in their entirety as well as the unitive use of art materials and forms
Creative Process
The artist puts more emphasis on how their artwork was made than on the artwork itself.
Multi-focal (Philippine Art)
Considers everything and everyone, the wide perspective of the artwork as well as both artist and viewer.
