Challenging a system that is already in place

Indoctrination (n)

The process of teaching a person or group to accept a set of beliefs uncritically.

Censorship (n)

The suppression or prohibition of any parts of books, films, news, etc., that are considered obscene, politically unacceptable, or a threat to security.

Scrutiny (n)

Critical observation or examination.

Hierarchy (n)

A system or organization in which people or groups are ranked one above the other according to status or authority.

Compliance (n)

The state or fact of acting according to a rule, demand, or wish.

Ostracize (v)

To exclude someone from a society or group.

Juxtaposition (n)

The fact of two things being seen or placed close together with a contrasting effect (e.g., the beautiful surface vs. the ugly reality).

Facade (n)

An outward appearance that is maintained to conceal a less pleasant or creditable reality.

Futility (n)

Pointlessness or uselessness (a common feeling in a dystopia).
