Passé composé
Used for actions completed in the past, formed by subject pronoun + avoir or être + verb in past participle. J’ai parlé.
L’imparfait
Used for ongoing actions, habits and descriptions of the past, formed by subject pronoun + verb conjugated after nous but removing -ons ending and replacing it with ais, ais, ait, ions, iez, aient. Je parlais.
Futur Proche
Used to express actions that will happen soon same as - i am going to, formed by subject pronoun + aller conjugated + and infinitive verb. E.g. Je vais manger.
Futur Simple
Used to express actions that will or could happen in the distant future same as - I will, formed by subject pronoun + infinitive verb + added endings ai, as, a, ons, ez, ont. For avoir aur- is used, être ser- is used, aller -ir is used, faire fer- is used.
Conditional Tense
Used to express hypothetical or polite actions same as - I would or I could, formed by futur simple stem and l’imparfait endings.
