Consists of heart, blood vessels, and blood.
Heart
A somewhat cone-shaped organ that pumps blood throughout the cardiovascular system.
Apex of the heart
The point of the cone of the heart that points toward the left hip.
Homeostasis
The maintenance of a stable internal environment or equilibrium.
Atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP)
A hormone produced by the heart that lowers blood pressure by decreasing sodium ion retention in kidneys.
Coronary circulation
The set of blood vessels that supply blood to the heart muscle.
Interventricular septum
