Refused to swear the Oath because it would go against the Pope’s authority (Catholic faith/traditional beliefs)

Believed that H8 had offended the laws of God & the Church.

From 1532, the growing influence of Thomas Cromwell & the presence of AB and her supporters at court largely silenced the Aragonese faction.

Lords Darcy and Hussey executed for treason. Courtenay arrested and executed in 1539.

most dangerous opponent as those around her were playing a political game and using her ‘visions’ to criticise H8 in an orchestrated campaign. Links to Courtenay, Hussey (Aragonese Faction), More and Fischer, & Carthusian monks. Their attempts to coordinate a resistance movement represented a genuine threat that H8s gov couldn’t afford to ignore. Wide following among the English clergy & nobility.
