Metals ___ electrons to form ______.
lose, cations
Nonmetals ___ electrons to form ______.
gain, anions.
When you’re drawing the model of disassociation, where do the “O”’s go? (to the metal or nonmetal)
To the Metal (cation)
When making the disassociation model, where to the “H”’s go? (metal or nonmetal?)
To the Nonmetal.
Why do nonmetals gain electrons, and why do metals lose electrons
the nonmetals always gain electrons from metals because they want to get full valence electrons by going forward on the periodic table, the metals want to go back to the row before them in the 8 valence electrons spot by losing electrons.
