A prominent military strategy of WW1 & WW2, involving the mobilization of ALL national resources, used to solely sustain war production; blurs the line between civilians & military
Great Depression
An outcome of WW1, occurred during the 1930s & started with the U.S. stock market crash; an economic crisis. Had global economic effects & ensured the inability of recovery for failing economies
New Deal
A series of financial reforms set out by Franklin Roosevelt to combat the Great Depression; an example of a government taking greater economic control (no longer only free-market)
Five Year Plan
Aimed to industrialize the Soviet Union through emphasis on heavy industry & agricultural collectivization; would cause widespread famine & strict labor policies
