What is insolation?
The amount of solar radiation (energy from the sun’s rays) reaching an area measured in Watt/m²
What is latitude?
The distance we are from the equator measured in degrees

What happens during solstices?
Hemisphere is maximally tilted towards the sun
What happens during equinox’s?
Hemisphere equally face the sun
What is albedo?
The proportion of light that is reflected by a surface
What do surfaces with higher albedo do?
Reflect more light and absorb less (heat)
What do surfaces with low albedo do?
Reflect less light and absorb more (water n heat)
Why are urban areas hotter?
They absorb more insulation; rural areas have more trees n water which reflects the insulation
