What was the Yalta Conference ?

The Yalta Conference was a meeting of the Big Three in February 1945,to decide what would happen to Europe and Germany after WW2 (Germany wasn't defeated yet).

Who were the Big Three ?

- Prime Minister Churchill (UK)

- Joseph Stalin (USSR)

- President Roosevelt (USA)

What were Churchill's aims ?

- Free Elections

- Democratic governments in Eastern Europe

What were Stalin's aims ?

- Soviet Influence in Eastern Europe

What were Roosevelt's aims ?

- Soviet support in war against Japan

What were the relationship between the Big Three like ?

The relationship between the Big Three was really tense.

Even though the allies seemed close,there was actually a lot of misunderstanding and a lack of trust between all of them.

What were Yalta's agreements ?

- Free elections in Eastern Europe countries

- Split Germany into four zones of occupation (French,British,American and Soviet)

- Soviet help in Japan after the defeat of Germany

- Germany will pay reparations

- Hunt down War Criminals

- Join the UN
