Oophoritis
Inflammation of the ovary, often due to infection of fallopian tubes or peritoneum.
Chronic Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID)
A disease characterized by inflammation and infection of the upper genital tract in females, including the uterus, tubes, and ovaries.
Follicular Cysts
Common cysts arising from unruptured graafian follicles, usually small but can grow larger.
Luteal Cysts
Cysts that arise from the corpus luteum, can be cystically dilated and may secret progesterone.
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
A common hormonal disorder in reproductive women, characterized by anovulation and hyperandrogenism.
Serous Tumors
A type of surface epithelial ovarian tumor, commonly filled with serous fluid.
Mucinous Tumors
Tumors of the ovary that can be benign or malignant, filled with gelatinous material.
Dysgerminoma
A malignant germ cell tumor that is the ovarian counterpart of seminomas.
Granulosa-Theca Cell Tumors
Tumors that arise from sex cords and stroma of the ovary, often secreting estrogen.
Krukenberg Tumor
A metastatic tumor of the ovary often originating from gastrointestinal tract cancers, characterized by mucin-producing signet ring cells.
