sternoclavicular ligament
connects clavicle to sternum on anterior and posterior surfaces. Limits anterior and posterior movement of medial clavicle.
costoclavicular ligament
connects clavicle’s inferior surface to the superior surface of the costal cartilage of the 1st rib. Limits clavicular elevation.
interclavicular ligament
connects the superior medial ends of the clavicle. Limits clavicular depression.
Acromioclavicular Ligament
Holds the clavicle and acromion together. Superior and Inferior.
Coraco-clavicular Ligament
allows scapula to be suspended from the clavicle (lateral trapezoid and medial conoid)
Coracoacromial Ligament
Forms arch over the head of the humerus
Coracohumeral Ligament
From the lateral side of the coracoid process to the medial side of the greater tubercle. Strengthens the anterior/superior portion of the joint capsule.
Radial Collateral Ligament
styloid process of the radius → scaphoid of and trapezium
Ulnar Collateral Ligament
styloid process of the ulna → pisiform and triquetrum
Palmar Radiocarpal Ligament
thick ligament that limits wrist extension
Flexor Retinaculum
fibrous band on the anterior surface of the wrist; can be subdivided into palmar carpal ligament and the transverse ligament; holds tendons toward the wrist and prevents spreading of carpals; forms a tunnel in which the median nerve and 9 extrinsic flexor tendons of the finger and thumb pass through
Extensor Retinaculum Ligament
fibrous band on the posterior aspect of the wrist; holds the extensor tendon close to the wrist
Extensor Expansion Ligament
small triangular, flat aponeurosis that covers the dorsum and sides of the proximal phalanx of the fingers; use as an attachment for the extensor digitorum, lumbricals, and interossei muscles
