repeals and coming into force
Transport Canada Aeronautical Information Manual (TC AIM)
contains detailed info about air law, rules of air, air traffic control, liscensing and airmanship
Canada Flight Supplement (CFS)
joint civil/military publication - civilian org involved is NAV CANADA
CFS publication contains
general info
aerodrome directory
planning (flight)

military
emergency
Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB)
investigates all transport occurences in Canada - does not assign blame/liability
Visibility
Ability to see + identify unlighted objects (day) and lighted objects (night)
Cieling
lowest height at which broken/overcast condition exists
Flight Visibility
any range visibility, any given time, forward from cockpit of aircraft in flight
Ground Visibility
visibility at aerodrome, reported by ATC unit, FSS or AWOS (automated weather observing system)
Flight Time
aircraft first moves under its own power to take off until it comes to rest
Air Time
aircraft leaves surface to time it touches down
Logging of Flights
contain pilots name + following for every flight
date of flight
type of aircraft + registration markings
flight crew position
flight conditions
flight time
for gliders - method of launch
for aeroplanes - place of departure and place of arrival + all intermediate takeoffs/landings
Visual signals - Aircraft on Ground
Series of Green flashes - cleared to taxi
Steady Green light- Cleared for takeoff
Series of Red flashes - taxi clear of landing, area in use
Steady Red light - STOP
Flashing White light - Return to starting point at airport
Blinking Runway lights - vehicles and pedestrians to vacate runway immediately
Visual signals - Aircraft in Flight
Series of Green flashes - return to landing
Steady Green light - cleared for landing
Series of Red flashes - Airport unsafe, DO NOT LAND
Steady Red light - give way to other aircraft, continue circling
Firing of Red Pyrotechnical light - do not land for time being (only locations w military control towers)
Cannot act as aircrew unless
Hold appropriate permit
Permit, License, rating is valid
have valid medical certificate
can produce it
Recency Requirements
To use license must have

Runway Numbers
Southern Domestic Airspace - magnetic bearing rounded nearest 10 degrees
For Northern - true bearings instead (last 0 ommited)
Examples of abnormal occurences
Overspeeds
heavy/hard landings
propellor strikes
flights in severe turbullence
Owner of aircraft shall keep folowing tech records for aircraft
