1\.The body is integral to humanity and to the identity of the human person 2. Man is a subject, a rational creature capable of self-determination and endowed with freedom. Therefore he must be respected as a person and never used as an object. 3. The body is meant to reveal the dignity of the person, not to be the object of self-gratification 4. Male and female are two complimentary ways of existing as a human person. 5. Maleness and femaleness are intrinsic to one’s personal identity (Adam knew himself in front of woman (Eve))—identity is tied to one’s sexuality 6. The human person finds the meaning of his/her identity in making a gift of him/herself to the ONE 7. Man and woman are to be a mutual help to each other. They were created as gift one for the other 8. Fatherhood and motherhood are intrinsically connected to the identity of the man/woman, husband/wife. The gift of new life is integrally connected to sexual union; children are the natural and intended fruit of married love9. What is the Catholic Church teaching on those who have killed themselves?
We cannot ever help people kill themselves. God will judge us on how we have lived the life he gave us…and if we ended it. It goes against the 5th commandment, love of self, love of neighbor, and love of God. We should not despair of the salvation of people who killed themselves—often they have psychological problems that decrease their responsibility for killing themselves. We should pray for them.
