Partial Fraction
Fractions which have been derived from a more complex fraction
Determine whether the Fraction is Proper or Improper. If improper, get the quotient and the remainder/divisor, then decompose the remainder/divisor. Identify the Cases, Follow the Rules for Each Case, Solve and Simplify.
Steps in solving for the Partial Fractions
Case 1: Linear and Distinct, Case 2: Linear and Repeated, Case 3: Quadratic and Distinct, where the Quadratic Equation can no longer be reduced, Case 4: Quadratic and Repeated, where the Quadratic Equation can no longer be reduced.
