Designed to decrease the need for enslavement by automatically taking seeds out of cotton, but it backfired because it would increase dependence on slavery.
Denmark Vessey
Planned the most sophisticated rebellion caused by enslaved people in American History.
Haitian Rebellion
Led by Toussaint Louverture it was a bloody slave revolt against the French which struck fear into southern slave owners.
International Slave Trade
Banned in 1808: no new slaves can come into the US but there were already 4 million enslaved in the US.
Demand For Slavery
Demand for slavery to end by the North is no more during the Era of Good feelings since Northern Industry is making money off of southern cotton picked by slaves.

At the time of death, people want to kill him and he is wanted. However, after his death people began to revere him as a brilliant man for his literature skills.
