Introduction/launch/beginning stage 1

Fashion is introduced, and fashion leaders accept or reject the style.

Rise stage 2

The fashion gains popularity as more people accept it.

Peak stage 3

The fashion reaches its height of popularity and is widely accepted by many people.

Decline stage 4

Boredom sets in and fashion declines as fewer people wear it, until it is marked down by shops.

Obsolete/obsolescence stage 5

Garments go out of fashion; a new trend is established and the fashion cycle is completed.

Brand piracy

The use of a name similar to a well-known brand to mislead consumers and unauthorized use of protected trademarks.

Counterfeit

Replicas of original products; an illegal copy.

Eco-fashion

Clothing produced using methods that are not harmful to the environment, often using organic or recycled materials.

Sustainable textiles

Textiles cultivated and manufactured in eco-friendly ways with little or no chemicals.

Organic textiles

Textiles made without harmful pesticides, bleaching agents, or chemical colorants.
