Chemical Reaction
A process in which two or more substances react to form one or more new substances with different properties.
Synthesis Reaction
A reaction where two or more simple substances combine to form a more complex substance (e.g., A + B —-> AB).
Decomposition Reaction
A reaction in which a complex substance breaks down into two or more simpler substances (e.g., AB —--> A + B).
Single Replacement Reaction
A reaction where an uncombined element replaces an element in a compound (e.g., AB + C —--> A + CB).
Double Replacement Reaction
A reaction where two compounds react to form two new compounds (e.g., AB + CD —---> AD + CB).
HgO—> Hg + O2
Decomposition
Al + O2 —→ Al2O3
Synthesis
HCI + NaOH —> NaCl + H2O
Single- displacement reaction
Pb(NO3)3 + K3CrO4 —> PbCrO4 + KNO3
Double-replacement reaction
