CRISPER Cas-9
How does crisper-cas9 works in bacteria
when a bacteria sees a virus DNA, the guide RNA of bacteria goes there and first unfolds the virus DNA , then the guide RNA attaches to the virus DNA then cas-9 protein comes and cuts at the point where guide RNA is present, so virus DNA splits into parts hence becomes inactive
Function of CRISPR
Function of cas-9
to create guide RNA
to cut
What is the useof CRISPR-Cas9 when we already have restriction endonuclease
RE are not very specific, they can cut at multiple places where as CRISPR-Cas9 is very specific because of guide RNA hence we can modify guide RNA to cut at desired points precisely
is CRISPR-Cas9 is used only for cutting or pasting too?
It only cuts, pasting is not its duty
