Spanish-American War
America's support the ongoing struggle by Cubans and Filipinos against Spanish rule. Began in the aftermath of the mysterious internal explosion of the battleship U.S.S. Maine in Havana Harbor in Cuba leading to the intervention in the Cuban War of Independence. This lead to the war where Spain and the US fought.
