Why is ice at 273k more effective in cooling than water at the same temperature?
Ice at 273k absorb heat energy or latent heat from the medium to become water, hence cooling effect of ice is more than the water at the same temperature because water does not absorb extra heat from the medium.
What produces more severe burns? Boiling water or steam?
Steam produces more severe burns this is because even though boiling water and steam water are of same temperature (100°c) steam contain extra latent heat of vapourisation.
How does the water kept in an earthen pot(matka) become cool during summer?
There are many small pores in earthen pot through which the water kept inside the earthen pot evaporate.its take latent heat required to for evaporation from the remaining water or the earthen pot as result the temperature of remaining water decreases and it becomes cool.
Why does our palm feel cold when we put some acetone or petrol or perfume on it?
When we put some acetone or petrol or perfume on our palm it's takes heat from our palm and evaporates therefore making our palm cooler or the surrounding.
Why are we able to sip hot tea or milk faster from a saucer rather than a cup?
We are able to sip hot tea or milk faster from the saucer rather than a cup because saucer have large surface area, means rate of evaporation is faster due to which tea or milks cools rapidly
What type of clothes should we wear in summer?
We should wear cotton cloth in summer during summer our body sweat alot, and cotton is a sweat absorber which absorb heat and sweat from our body keeping our body cool
For any substance why does the temperature remains constant during the change of state?
The heat supplied during the change of state for any substance is to overcome the forec of attraction between particle of the substance there is no increase in kinetic energy so the temperature remains constant during the change of state.
Suggest method to liquify atmospheric gases?
By applying pressure and reducing the temperature. When enough pressure is applied the gases are highly compressed into a small volume, the particle of gases get so close that they start attracting one another to form liquid.
What is the physical state of water at
A)25°c. B)0°c. C)100°c.
A) liquid. B)solid. C)gases
Give two reason to justify
A)water at room temperature is a liquid .
B) an iron almirah is a solid at room temperature.
A)1) the water boils at 373°k and the room temperature is nearly 20°C-25°C so water is liquid at room temperature.
2) at the room temperature,it doesn't have fixed shape but definite volume.
B)1) it's have definite shape
2)it have definite volume
