Intelligence
The ability to adapt to the environment using cognitive skills.
General crystallized intelligence
Overall knowledge acquired from formal and informal education.
General fluid intelligence
The ability to reason, think, and learn new things, representing a person's potential for learning.
Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences
Proposes that there are eight independent intelligences that work together in activities.
Linguistic intelligence
The ability to use words to describe or communicate ideas.
Logical intelligence
The ability to reason, perceive patterns in numbers, and use numbers effectively.
Spatial intelligence
The capacity to accurately perceive and transform the visual-spatial world.
Bodily-kinesthetic intelligence
The expertise in using one’s body skillfully.
Musical intelligence
The ability to recognize components of music and use music to express ideas.
Interpersonal intelligence
The ability to accurately perceive and respond to the emotions of others.
Intrapersonal intelligence
The ability to introspect and discriminate one's emotions and perceptions.
Naturalistic intelligence
The ability to recognize and classify living things, having a sensitivity to features of the natural world.
Sternberg's Theory of Successful Intelligence
Defines intelligence as a person's ability to succeed in life based on personal goals.
Analytical abilities
Involve identifying problems, choosing strategies for solving them, and monitoring outcomes.
Creative abilities
Involve generating novel ideas for solving problems.
Giftedness
The combination of traits that describes individuals who are gifted.
Renzulli’s three-ring conception of giftedness
A model defining giftedness as a combination of above-average ability, high levels of task commitment, and creativity.
Cognitive giftedness
Giftedness focused primarily on academic achievements and assessments.
SES (Socioeconomic Status)
Parents’ income, occupation, and education level, which can relate to IQ scores.
