What is the function of the parietal lobe?
Process touch senses from around the body and bring information from other parts of the brain. (Sensory touch)
What is the function of the Frontal lobe:
Some functions are reasoning, planning, problem-solving, decision-making, and controlling emotions and behavior. It also plays a role in motor control and speech production (via Broca's area).
What is the function of the Temporal lobe?
Responsible for understanding and producing spoken languages, memory and recgonizing faces and objects.
What is the function of the occiptual lobe:
Primarily responsible for processing visual information, including aspects like color, light, motion, and depth perception.
What is the function of the Cerrebullum:
Balance and corrodination
Name one diffrence between male and female brains: hint (Somthing to do with Corpus collosum)
Females have larger and more active corpus collosum, allowing between communication between the brain hemisphere leading to stronger language, emotion and social skills.
Name me another difference between male and female brains:
Males typically have a ten% larger brain than females due to having a bigger body mass and muscle group but does not mean men are smarter.
What did Harastey et al (1997) find?
Suggest that part of the brains that process and produce language are slightly bigger in females compared to males.
What did Sommer et al 2004) suggest?
Sommer et al (2004) suggested no strong evidence that females use both hemispheres for language tasks. So it can not explain why girls tend to have better language skills than males.
What did Rilea et al (2003) find?
Found that males were better at some spaital tasks than females
What does the term “Neurotransmitters” mean?
Chemicals (Example: Serotonin and dopamine) found in the nervous system that pass messages from one neuron to another across a synapse.
What does the term “Synapse” mean?
A gap between the two neurons that allow the neurotransmitters to send messages.
