Vertex
The point where 2 sides meet
Adjacent angle
Are two angles that share a comma vertex and a comma side.
Complementary angle
A pair of angles whose measure sums to 90 degrees.
Tip: The angles don't have to be adjacent but can be.
Supplementary angles
A pair of angle whose measures sum up to 180 degrees.
Tip: the angles don't have to be adjacent.
Verticle angles
Angles that are opposet of eachother when two lines cross.
Tip: they are always equal to eachother.
Acute angle
An angle that is less than 90 but greater then 0.
Right angle
A right angle of exactly 90 degrees.
Tip: has to have a square if it is 90 degrees.
Obtuse angle
An obtuse angle is an angoe that measures more than 90 but less than 180.
Straight angle
A staright angle is an angle that is equal to 180 degrees.
How to find area of square?
The base multiplyed by the hight.
How to find the area of triangle?
Do base multiplyed by hight, but then divide it by 2.
How to find volume of a prism?
Base multiplyed by the height of prism.
How to do triangle inequality?
For example the sides of a triangle are 11,6, and 13.
To make sure it is good you will have to do this- 11+6>13_ 6+13>11_ 12+13>6.
If they are all true then it works!
How to find surface area?
Flatten shape
Find area of all shapes
Find total of all areas.
How to find volume?
1.What shape is the base
2. Find area of that shape
Multiply area and height of prism
Why can each strmnt be true?
Because if one angle is 150 and the other is 30 it is true because that equals 180.
What is a tip?
Two angles that add up to 180 can't also add up to 90.
