Taxis

The movement of a whole animal towards or away from a stimulus coming from one direction only

Tropotaxis

A taxis in which an organism orients itself by the simultaneous comparison of stimuli of different intensity acting on separate end organs.

Klinotaxis

Turning that is oriented to a stimulus

Kinesis

The change in rate of movement of a whole organism in response to the change in intensity of a non-directional stimulus

Orthokinesis

The speed of the movement related to intensity of stimulation

Klinokinesis

The amount of random turning is related to the intensity of stimulation

Homing

The ability of an organism to find its home over unfamiliar territory

Migration

The regularly repeated innate movement of a population of animals from the place they feed to the place they breed and back again
