Direct Current

is the flow of electric current in only one direction. It refers to system where the source voltage is constant.

Alternating Current

is the flow of electric charge that periodically reverses direction

Resistor

A component that provides resistance to the current flowing through an electrical circuit.

series circuit

is a closed loop circuit which the current follows one path.

parallel circuit

is a closed loop circuit which the current divides into two or more paths before recombining to complete the circuit.

Electromotive force (emf)

is a measurement of energy that causes current to flow through a circuit.

Internal Resistance

is the amount of resistance within the voltage source.

Terminal Voltage

is the voltage measured across the terminals of a source of potential difference.
