What is Algebra?
Algebra is a part of math that focuses on using letters and symbols to represent numbers and the rules for working with them.
Why is Algebra important?
Algebra acts as a common link in nearly all areas of mathematics and is essential for higher education in subjects like math, science, engineering, and economics.
What are Variables in Algebra?
Variables are placeholders that can hold different values, helping to create formulas and rules in various situations.
What are Pronumerals?
Pronumerals are terms written in alphabetical order, such as 5xy.
Define Terms in Algebra.
A term is a single mathematical expression, such as 2, y, 3x, or 6xy.
What are Constants?
Constants are only numbers, not variables, for example, 2 or -5.
Explain Coefficients.
Coefficients are numbers in front of variables, such as the 3 in 3t.
What are Expressions in Algebra?
Expressions consist of variables, numbers, and operations, but do not include an equality sign (=).
Define Equations.
Equations show that two expressions have the same value, such as 2x + 3 = 7.
