Muscular Strength
The maximum force a muscle or muscle group can generate. ex: 1 rep max
Muscular Power
The rate at which work is performed, important in sports and activities like kicking, sprinting, jumping, and throwing.
power
is the product of force x velocity, indicating how quickly a force can be exerted in a movement.
Muscular Endurance
The capacity to perform repeated muscle contractions or to sustain a contraction over time. max reps at a percentage of 1 RM
Isotonic Contraction
Muscle contraction with movement, includes concentric (shortening) and eccentric (lengthening) contractions.
Concentric
muscle contractions that shorten the muscle while generating force.
eccentric
muscle contractions that lengthen the muscle while generating force.
Isometric Contraction
Muscle contraction without movement; the contractile force within the muscle is equal to the external resistive force.
Force
A push or pull that can cause an object with mass to change its velocity, described by the formula Force = Mass x acceleration.
